Different…

There is a part of me

That feels I am different from everyone else.

Something that I can’t quite see,

Something that I can’t quite feel,

Something so unreal.

But this ‘thing’ is always there,

This ‘thing’ with others, I will never share.

So I push it to the back of my mind,

All the thoughts of boys and clothes

And make-up, it is hiding behind.

Sometimes, when I have almost forgotten,

It comes back with such ferocity,

Angry and unforgiving.

I feel so lost and sad,

Whatever caused this feeling

Must have been so horrible and bad.

A lost memory or something else,

I’ll never know,

Whatever it is,

I know for sure,

I can never let this feeling show.

Change ‘da World…

If you people have read the post, “To be or Not to be” in my blog… This is where I got my inspiration for that post.

I was watching the movie, “Kids in America”, the other day where I actually encountered Shakespeare’s ‘To be or Not to be’ where a student gives an ordinary performance a twist and turns it into a revolt against the insensitive and dominating principal who is running for state school superintendent. What they have shown in the movie is the combined effort of the entire school students which results in the end of the monopoly of the principal. The students bring about a change which would not have been seen if one person had not initiated it. The whole revolt starts because of their video teacher who gives them an assignment… “CHANGE ‘DA WORLD!

We are organizing a state level technical event in our college. Being the event coordinator, I know what I had to do to get the approval for the event. On one side, our Principal and HOD say that they are in support of the students if they want to go ahead and do something different, and on the other side, when we go to them with our new ideas, we are just told that it is not feasible…

This reminds me of the properties of the inductor. (Being an Electronic Engg. Student, I know it very well.) The inductor is a device which tries to resist the change in current through it whenever the current tries to change. And the opposition offered by the inductor is proportional to the rate of change of current.

I realized that I alone with a few of my friends could not overcome the opposing forces (We were like lonely electrons). So, all we could do was implement it on a very small scale… (Leakage current you know… ;-) ). We did what we could… our small part. We need a very large current to overcome the entire force… which is not possible.

Changing the world they say, is a step by step process. Each one has to do our own small part. But only by uniting together can we accomplish this. We by ourselves are nothing. Unless we unite together and work together for a cause, we cannot succeed.

I think that’s enough for the day. I’ll be back with a guide to changing the world soon! ;-)

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered,

Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives,

Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies,

Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow,

Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable,

Be honest and frank anyway.

People favour underdogs, but follow only top dogs,

Fight for some underdogs anyway.

What you spent years building may be destroyed overnight,

Build anyway.

People really need help, but may attack if you help them,

Help them anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and you’ll get kicked in the teeth,

Give the world the best you’ve got…

ANYWAY!!!

Is Hell Exothermic or Endothermic…

I have a wise friend who keeps telling me… “Not everything has an explanation or reason!” And I keep telling her, “Everything has to have a reason.”
I found this article on the net… And if this question can have an answer… Everything deserves to have a reason!!!

The following is an actual question given on a University of Liverpool chemistry final exam.

The answer by one student was so “profound” that the professor shared it with colleagues via the Internet, which is why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law that gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that, if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell.

Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell. Because Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay constant, the volume of Hell must expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Sandra during my freshman year, that; “It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you!!!” and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is endothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is extinct…leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being – which explains why, last night, Sandra kept shouting “Oh my God.”

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY “A”.
