Where are we heading???

As suggested by one of my closest friends, I downloaded the series “HEROES” and was watching it wherein I came across a character by the name “Claire Bennet”, with powers of spontaneous regeneration of body tissue, which means that she can heal herself of any injuries very quickly… Just like “Wolverine”, from the “X-MEN”… “But much cooler” – as my friend described it… ;-)

The point in consideration here is not her powers, but here family life. She is an adopted child and she knows that, but she doesn’t know about her adopted parents. Later on she finds out about them with the help of one of her friends and meets her mother. Her mother does not disclose her father’s identity because it is sort of illegitimate. I didn’t feel anything at first. But when I actually thought about it… it felt like two different people to me.

One was the female with high dignity whom the entire society would praise and shower with blessings… the female who was living with the Bennet’s. The other was the female who had discovered her mother had an illegitimate child. The girl whom the society would torment, the only showers she would get would be of dirty looks…

We live in such a forward society, we call ourselves modern, I personally always felt I was very open minded, but if such thoughts can come to my mind… I guess we need a serious rethinking about where we are heading…

But what amazes me is that even today where we are “ADVANCING” in every field of life to new avenues… why can we never give an equal status to the feminine gender. They have always been downtrodden and pulled back, even today when they are moving ahead of their masculine counterparts, why are they still considered the weaker sex and also treated so???

Small Words, Big Difference…

A few weeks back, on Saturday morning, I wanted to go for a movie with my friends. But I had to go with my parents to my native place.

Notice anything? I don’t think so. We use these (or such kind of) statements very often in our day to day life. But we do not pay attention to what we are saying. We do not note the big difference a small word makes in what we say.

What is the difference in saying “I want to” and “I have to”? Nothing much? Think again…

The whole difference is made by the 2 small words “WANT” and “HAVE”. When I say I want to I am saying it’s my wish, and I’m gonna do what I want, and I will definitely be happy. When I say I have to, I’m saying I need to, or that I’m doing it on impulse. I may or may not want to do it… But I HAVE to…

You must be thinking why I’m giving a lecture which seems like an English grammar class. What I’m trying to say is… It’s always the little things that matter… That make the big difference…
